Advice on mental health issues available

WORLD Mental Health Day will see libraries across north Kent offering advice to residents.

On Friday(OCTOBER 10) leaflets will be available in all libraries, and there will be experts on hand in the main library in Gravesend, Swanley and Dartford.

Organised by mental health organisations across the world, including Mind, the aim of the day is to raise awareness of mental health issues.

A spokesman for the Dartford, Gravesend and Swanley branches of Mind said: "Mental Health issues and the people living with them continue to be misunderstood and they are too often victims of stigma and discrimination by their fellow citizens.

"This year's World Mental Health is intended to create a global call to action to promote the development and funding of adequate and appropriate mental health services in all countries around the world."

World Mental Health Day was established in 1992 and is commemorated by more than 100 countries.
